ABOUT THE PROGRAM<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Come explore the areas of Industrial Design and Making at Drexel University. This two-week in-person commuter workshop will expose you to a range of possibilities within digital design including 3D printing, 3D modeling, laser cutting and CNC routing. You will also explore the essentials of prototyping using basic electronics. You will attend classes taught by Drexel faculty members in our Hybrid Making Lab and Product Design\u2019s Maker Space. In addition, while working closely with an instructor, you will try your hand at designing your own prototypes and models. If you are an innovator who has considered industrial design, product design, or product development \u00ad this program is for you! It will provide you with hands-on experiences that allow you to bring your own ideas and designs to life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

PROGRAM FORMAT<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Classes: <\/strong>Classes will run Monday through Friday between the hours 9:30am \u2013 4:00pm, with one lunch break.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Closing:<\/strong> Students who complete the <\/s> program will receive a program certificate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Facilities: <\/strong>Drexel offers state-of-the-art digital fabrication equipment including micro and small-scale tools geared toward model making and small-scale prototyping. In addition, the Lab has three Universal Laser Cutters, a range of 3D printers, 3D scanners, and a CNC router.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meal Plan<\/strong>: Drexel will provide you with lunch every day during the program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Health Services<\/strong>: You are required to submit proof of health insurance prior to the start of the program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Housing<\/strong>: This summer program is designed as a commuter program therefore supervised residential housing is not offered. We can make recommendations for accommodations on or near Drexel’s campus. Both options require a parent to stay overnight with the student if they are under the age of 18.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    REGISTRATION<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    We welcome mature high school students, 16\u201318 years old (must have completed the 10th grade).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Tuition: <\/strong>$1,800* (includes all tools, supplies, and daily lunch)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    All applications will be reviewed upon completion and applicants will be notified on a rolling basis. Students who are not accepted into the program will receive a full refund of their $300 application deposit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Upon acceptance, we will e-mail an information package to you and your family with additional program information and, of course, forms to complete. The $300 deposit will be credited towards the full tuition cost. Upon acceptance, your deposit is non-refundable. The balance of $1,500 will be due by June 15, 2026. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    How soon will you hear from us?<\/strong> All applications will be reviewed as we receive them and applicants will be notified on a rolling basis. Admissions decisions are based upon academic preparation and a commitment to learn. We will e-mail an acceptance letter and an information package to you and your family with additional program information, and of course, and forms to complete. Enrollment is limited to 10 students and is available on a first-come, first-serve basis upon review and acceptance of the application.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
